I loved the Meijer on Col Glenn when we lived near Wright Patterson. But I don’t like the one on Wilmington Pike. They never have enough people checking customers out. You have to wait in really long lines. I was waiting in line yesterday when I realized one of the unlimited (vs under 15 items) lane was almost open. I decided to switch lanes. I had a lot of groceries so it took me a long time. I was trying to go as fast as I could. Instead of helping me bag my stuff an employee just kept moving my stuff around (thinking she was helping me sort it) so the next person could start checking out. I only go to Meijer because they are the only grocery that sells Chobani Yogurt Tubes. I only go there when I need them. Unfortunately this trip they only had one box so I’ll have to go back soon.
My only complaint of this grocery store is a fact that the produce section always has dead fruit dead vegetables that have been sitting there for days. We're talking about moldy smushy runny fruit that shouldn't be sold that nobody will buy anyways nasty stuff. They've also got an issue with whoever their produce worker is can't stock the produce right. The other problem is still on that side of the grocery store the bread prepackaged doesn't count but the packaging that they kind of do there's a lot of mold on those breads the specialty bread so the next time you go check out the produce and then head over to the bread their specialty bread and check it out before you put it in your car because 9 times out of 10 people don't look and they bring that stuff home and they had to pay for new bread and they're getting moldy stuff and when you tell the store this they say okay we'll take care of it you come back an hour later and it's still hasn't been taken care of that's bad
Great grocery store! Great for a quick trip or all you grocery shopping in one visit! Meijer also had curb side pickup. Meijer is not just another grocery store they also house!
This Meijer always has everything that I need. The cashiers are quick and friendly. They deli is extremely good (I usually just grab whatever they've put out that day instead of waiting in line, since the line is usually longer than I feel like waiting). The meat department is always stocked, and I've never had a bad cut of anything. The deals are usually pretty good. Oh, and their foreign section(s) are great as well!
Meijer was a new experience for me in September when I moved to the area. It is a real well-run outfit. The service folks are happy and know their store. Food and sundries are above par. Fresh meat & seafood is top notch. Good organic foods for those of us who need less bovine growth hormone in our dairy products. The store is always clean. The cashiers know their work and do it fast. I saw a manager assign the cashier at my aisle to break. Then she waited for the line to advance and chained the aisle behind me. Very thoughtful management like that takes training and good skills as well as genuine concern for both staffer and customer. It shows.
